Screen connect requires running a small application for windows. On Mac it requires more effort, since you have to check boxes to allow sharing in system preferences. This is due to the tight security and privacy controls the Mac has in recent versions.

On both systems for the Google sharing you have to install a chrome plug in for access and have to be logged into you google account.
