Android version of my Density variation calculator.
It is a simple app that calculates allowable density variation under the rules of ASME Section V.
You measure the density in the body of a hole type IQI or next to the essential wire of a wire type IQI and then it calculates the min and max densities in the area of interest. The ranges are minus 15% to plus 30% ( except the plus 30% can be exceeded when using a shim under a hole type IQI).

This version adds the ability to add shielding in addition to the collimator. This can be added in inches rather than in the half-value layers. The default colimator is still added in half-value layers.
Other improvements include faster performance and retina graphics for the iPhone.
Ug Calc is a simple Geometric Unsharpness calculator for Industrial Radiography.
All you have to do is plug in the distance from the Object (source side of the object or weld) to the film and to the source distances, along with the source size (diagonal).
This is not a difficult calculation to make but using this app makes it simpler and no need to keep looking up formulas.
NOTE: The source side of the object or weld on double wall exposure welds with Single Wall viewing is the inside surface of the pipe near the film. Basically the wall thickness (and maybe reinforcement).
On other welds it is more obvious where the source side of the object or weld is.

Example problem: What is the Ug when the weld to film distance is 0.5 inches and the weld to source distance is 8 inches with a source size of 0.180 inches?
Answer: 0.011 inches of Ug. (Ug = (0.5 x 0.180)/8)
Code 313 is a calculator for interpreting industrial radiographs in accordance with ASME B31.3.

The app caculates the most common discontinuities such as cracks, incomplete penetration, internal porosity, slag inclusions, and undercutting.
It also calculates IQI (penetrameter) sizes. It has three sections, welds with no reinforcement, and welds reinforced on one or both sides.
NOTE: The calculations for welds with reinforcement are based on the MAXIMUM allowable reinforcement. The code references the “ESTIMATED” reinforcement, so use the numbers in the app with this in mind and as just references.
This app DOES NOT replace the code itself nor the need to have the code. There are many other issues in the code that need to be referenced, this is just a calculator. One common example is you need the porosity ccomparison charts from the code for reference and need to be able to reference the rules and conditions.

The 2.0 revision of X-Ray Timer has been approved by Apple and is in the App Store.
This revision added Se-75 as an Isotope selection. I used the values by the manufacturer for the radiation output and the published values for the shielding value of the steel. I don’t actually own any Selenium sources myself, but several people requested this feature.
I decided to go ahead and make this app free for the community. Sales dropped off enough to the point I wouldn’t really get paid anymore so I decided to make it free for everyone. Hopefully now it will be the new standard way work is done. Spread the work around.
